Hidden Earth 2017
3D Cave Chambers Mapping Project
30 minute Lecture|Mr Roo Walters

Abstract
For the last three years, a team consisting of Roo Walters, Andy Eavis, Tim Allen and Pr Pete Smart, supported by many others, having been visiting the largest cave chambers in the world to scan them in 3D using modern laser scanning equipment. The aim was, for the first time, to have data that would allow us to accurately assess their volume and other dimensions, but also provide a basic data set that would allow further study. The result is for the first time we have highly accurate, detailed models of all the (current) top ten chambers in the world and a few more besides, with accurate measurements of volume, floor area and other dimensions.
