A New Dales Classic - Scanty Lardos Pot 2026 Extensions

Abstract
Over the course of 2026 The Misty Mountain Mud Miners have been busy extending the relatively recently discovered Scanty Lardos Pot in Penyghent Gill. So far over 2km of new cave has been explored, but with a distance of over 4km still remaining to the rising, there's a feeling that we could just be scratching the surface of the cave's potential.
Unlike some of the more 'collectors piece' discoveries the team has had in previous years, Scanty Lardos is one of the very finest trips of the region and looks set to join the list of classic Dales potholes.
Pete Hall, Rick Richardson and George North describe the exploration as well as the potential for further discoveries in this relatively little travelled area.
