Hidden Earth 2026
Looking for new areas for cave exploration..?
45 minute Workshop|Peter Talling
Abstract
This informal workshop aims to gather people together who are interested in finding new areas for cave exploration. It will provide inspiration and some practical tips for finding new expedition areas, and generally aims to support people who want to set up new trips. Such trips may be to less costly areas closer to home, such as for student clubs, as well as more far flung, exotic and expensive locations. Brief thoughts and encouragement will come from a range of people who have set up trips to new areas, including on logistics, sponsorship, permits, and how to build key contacts with local cavers. It is also a great chance to discuss other ways to be innovative with expeditions, not just in terms of areas visited. The informal session is supported by the Ghar Parau Foundation, and it will be a fun chance to meet others with similar ‘caving dreams’.
