Caving in the Philippines- Negros recce
30 minute Lecture|Henrys Dawson & Bennett
Abstract
Negros is an island in the southern part of the Philippines. I has an active volcano, landslides, insurgents battling the military, flash floods and a lot of very nice gin! It is also composed of limestone and has entrances you could get 50 busses in. Half the island is unexplored and the last expedition was decades ago. We decided it was about time to do a recce trip for the British. What could go wrong? This talk will tell you a bit about the island and how we got on. A couple of weeks of excellent caving with new and old Filipino friends... and plenty of gin.
